1 Introduction Ethylene, one of the simplest organic molecules with biological activity, is a planthormone that controls many processes of plant growth and development. Its synthesisis strictly regulated in plants. It is induced during some specific developmental stages,such as fruit ripening, seed germination and tissue senescence and abscission.
