The new Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Edition),a top level journal of materials Sciencein China,is a bimonthly scientific periodical sponsored by the Chinese Society for Metals andmanaged by the Institute of Metal Research,Chinese Academy of Sciences.It mainly containsthe high—level short reports on the new progresses of materials science which have not been pub-lished elsewhere,including materials physical physics,metallurgy and process metallurgy cov-ering the fields of mining and ore dressing,production metallurgy,foundry,metal working,powder metallurgy,joining and welding,oxidation and corrosion,composites,etc..Theeditor—in—chief,Prof.SHIH Changxu,is an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences aswell as an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering.Deputy edito—in—Chief isProf.XING Zhongshu.
