Microinjection of Anti-AVP Serum Into Amygdala and Hippocampus Influences on Discrimination Learningin Rats

摘要 Although the enhancing effect of vasopressin on learning and memory has been re-ported by quite a lot of authors, its mechanisms still remain unclear at present. Somereports showed that the central sites of its enhancing effect are mainly located inlimbic-midbrain structures, inculding hippocampus, septal nucleus, amygdala and raphe nu-cleus, and through these structures AVP exerts its modulatory effect on learning and mem-ory processes. In order to clarify the mechanisms of enhancing effect of 8-arginine-vasopressin (AVP) on discrimination learning in rats, especially the role of endogenousAVP in it, the method of intracerebral microcijection of anti-AVP serum was used in thepresent work.
