Some major issues centered on plate tectonics have been summarized.New ideas and hypotheses published in the last decade and more years around several problems of theoretic deficiency of plate tectonics,driving force of plate movement and other aspects, such aS continent-fixing plate tectonics, surge tectonics,"rolling-stretching effect" of crustal photo-Pressure caused by earth rotation,global sliping of lithosphere and migration of earth's mass centre, have briefly been mentioned and discussed.I suggest that northward migration of continents is related to southern hemisphere expanding and northern hemisphere contracting caused by southward migration of earth's mass centre,on the basis of evidences of the protracted continental evolution for nearly the last 600 Ma.The origin of long-period migration of earth's mass centre is worthy to be approached as a subject from this aspect that the spiral potential field of the galaxy may be effect on the earth.Finally,it is suggested that studies of continental dynamics should comprehensively be considered from the following aspects:(1)the earth iS subordinate to cosmic space,and (2)both tectonic regimes of continent and ocean can interact and intertransform.
