Affiliated to the China Aviation Industry Corporation, the Chengdu Engine Company is listed as the state mechano-electronics export base with partial import and export rights. It has 16 special factories, four scientific research institutes, 11 sub-companies, more than 40 associated enterprises and six window enterprises in coastal areas.
