The term 'lithodynamics' is suggested to denote processes of sediment transport due to exogenic factors and gravity, and also a branch of geosciences studying these processes. Integration of investigations, both of earth surface and of ocean, within one common branch of science is recommended. Basic notions and tasks of lithodynamics as applied to sediment transport processes are described.
