摘要
Acoording to Tibetan historical documents,the earliest group of Tibetan tombs appeared in the eighth tsampo(king)period of the Tubo.Kingdom.A kegend said because eighth tsampo had cut off the rope leading to heaven he could not etur to the upper world and had to remain on earth after he died.Thus the first tomb appeared in Tibet.A recent archeological find,however,established that the custom of burying the deceased in tombs emerged in Tbet in the lste New Stone Age about 3,000 years ago.
