摘要 This paper focuses on three interrelated aspects of therelationship between the satellite towns (Renhe Town) and thecentral city of metropolitan Guangzhou. The attention isinitially paid to the evolution of the satellite towns. Then theanalysis is turned to the inherent links between Renhe and thecentral city. Thirdly problems associated with the construction ofsatellite towns are examined. Guangzhou is experiencing the majorrestructuring of industrial structure and therefore it is necessary todecentralize some industries to satellite towns. However, the limitsfrom the central city and the satellite towns are influencing industrialdecentralization and collstruction of satellite towns. Thesolutionsand prospects are finally put forward.
