摘要
Flowers of layered cloth, also called appliqued flowers, are one example of Shaanxi Province’s folk handicrafts. Village women use assorted bits of cloth to piece together and layer the flowers on a red or green background, according to patterns of paper-cuts, to form a fancy, colorful and distinctly local style. Recently, women in Yanchuan have been using appliqued flowers in modern hangings—a new adaptation of this traditional folk handicraft.
