Abstract Eutrophication is a comprehensive environmental prolem existing in every region in the world. This paper describes the global state of eutrophication in resevoirs, lakes, rivers and seas, analizes the sources of excessive nutrients in water bodies and the causes of destruction of the nutrients balance in water bodies, and proposes the recommendations and measures to control the eutrophication.
