In recent years,sichuan’s fore- ign economic relations and trade have been forging rapidly ahead due to China’s political stability, economic prosperity and the pro- vince’s further opening to the out- side world and its local abundant natural resourses and products.In 1992,the total volume of the pro- vincial import and export topped (?)2. 2 billion,up 12.6 per cent over the previous year,of which the export value accounted for (?)1.49. One thou- sand and seventy foreign-funded enterprises were approved recently with negotiated funds of (?)859 mi- llion.Another amount of (?)514 mi- llion came from newly signed agree- ments in overseas projects and la- bour exportation.At present,si- chuan Province has already es- tablished foreign economic relations and trade with more than 120 cou- ntries and regions. Sichuan Province has mild cli- mate,fertile land,rich farm pro- ducts and minerals as well as a large market and an inexhaustible wealth of talented scientists and technicians.All these factors enable sichuan Province to become an ideal place to invest and has a great potential for development of foreign economic relations and trade.With preferential policies and high- -quality services,Sichuan is at present opening its door wider to welcome overseas friends to come for investment and trade talks.
