This paper describes an experimental method with which the wetting characteristics and wickingbehaviour in vertically hung woven fabric can be measured simultaneously.The wetting andwicking phenomena in woven fabrics were illustrated by the measurements of force and liquid upta-ke in cotton fabrics.Also a data processing method is introduced and both static and dynamic pro-perties are summarized in a system where cotton fabric is in contact with water.
