<abstract>This paper attempts to discuss the skill of negative transfer in the translation from English into Chinese. There are many different features between the usage of the negative particle in English and that in Chinese. Among those are the differences in the location of negative particles, the focus of negation, the scope of negation and some idiomatic expressions. Analyses and instances are given to show the necessity of the usage of this skill in translation.
