Surgical Treatment of Pes Equinovarus in Sequelae of Infantile Paralysis

本文总结我院10年间获平均5年随访的脊髓灰质炎后遗马蹄足畸形172例(175足)的手术结果,并对以常规三关节固定术为主的手术适应征选择,失败的原因及预防提出讨论。

In this article, we report the operative results of 172 cases (175 feet) of equinovarus in sequelae of infantile paralysis after ten years follow—up. The indications, causes of failure and its prevention about usual triple arthrodesis were mainly discussed. The authors emphasis that attention must be paied to prevent recurrence of deformity. 1. The deformities must be corrected completly, or even slight valgus. 2. The strength of muscles must be balanced by transference of tendons. 3. Line of force must be corrected if there were presence of genu varum or valgum and torsion of tibia.
