Early gastric cancers should be resected surgically as soon as diagnosed. But some patients with early gastric cancer who could not be operated on because of advanced age, refusal of surgery or the presence of complications may be treated under endoscopy. Now there are four methods which ate used throuh endoscopy for early gastric cancer unsuitable for surgery. (1). endoscopic zesection of early gastric cancer with electrocoagulation, including endoscopic strip biopsy, endoscopic double snare polypectomy and endosopic local injection of hypertonic salines—epinephrine(HSE) solution and resecion. These methods are excellent in treating early gastric cancer with no lymph node metastasis, especially in patients at high surgical risk. (2) endoscopic local injection into early gastric cancer, such as ethanol, OK—432,5—Fu. (3) endoscopic microwave coagulation cherapy. (4) endoscopic laser photocagulation therapy.
