We compared the sensitivity of three reagents for determining Selenium by gas chromatography:2.3-diaminonaphthalene,4-nitro- O-phenylenediamine and 3,5-dibromo-o-phenylenediamine.The best reagent is 3-5 dibromo-o-phenylenediamine.The lowest con- centration of detection was Se lng/ml(injected 2μl).Its detection limit was 2x10^(-12)g. 3,5-dibromo-o-phenylenediamine is not commercially avail- able,its synthesis was described.
