The southern limits of several indicators of the last giacial periods run latitudinally in parallel with those at present, But, it was in precipitation variation. For example, the region of Japan Sea side of Honshu, Japan, was relatively dry.during the Wurm Glacial period. This was because of the global lowering of sea level, which resulted in the redu amount or completely no flow of warm current (Kuroshio) into the Japan Sea The amount of precipitation on the Japan Sea side of Honshu in winter is a function of temperature difference between the air flow from Siberia and the surface of the Japan Sea strongly influenced by the wanm current along the Japan Sea coast. It is considered, however, that precipitation in the rainy season might be changed in parallel.
