AN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF RAIN-INDUCED SCINTILLATION AT 12 GHz

摘要 When the tropospheric irregularities emerge, fast fluctuation of amplitude and phase of microwave signals will possibly happen. It is called scintillation. There are two different kinds of explanations in terms of rain-induced scintillations on an earth-space link at microwave frequencies. Rain is not the main cause of induced scintillation in the light of measured data according to C-erd Ortgies. It was shown that after removing the slow signal variations due to rain attenuation the scintillation was the same as that of clear air turbulence. P.
