In the study of the ferroelastic domain of neodymium pentaphosphate (NdPP) crystal, we have discovered another defect in this crystal, i. e. the growth-region interface. It refers to the trace of the growing face which is dependent on the growth habit of the crystal itself, and constrained by the anisotropic growth rate. In the vicinity of this kind of defect, the lattice distortion occurs, seriously affecting the function of the device, and should be kept away
