There happened an earthquake (M_s=5) in Taicang, a small town of Jiangsu Province in the eastern part of China, on February 10, 1989. The site of photoelectric transit instrument (PTI)at Shanghai Observatory is about 60 km far from the epicentre. Some analyses have been made to the observational data obtained with the PTI.
