ENHANCING CONSERVATION OF WATER AND SOIL TO DEVELOP YELLOW RIVER AGRICULTURE

本文阅述了宁夏水土流失区的特点及其危害的严重性,扼要介绍了自治区成立以来,水土保持工作的主要成就,论述了山区建设中水土保持的战略意义,指出这是重建生态平衡,实现山区人民脱贫致富的必由之路。

This paper expounded the characteristics of the areas with loss of water and erosion of soil in Ningxia and serious effect caused by them. It made a brief account of the chief achievements in the conservation of water and soil, discussed the strategic significance of the work in the development of mountainous areas and indicated that it may be the only way to restore ecologic balance and help the peasants there shake off poverty and get well-off.
