A new multi-function instrument used for measuring the diameter of filament is mentioned.The measuring system is detailed.In addition to the static measurement,the kinetic measurement and elliptical measure- ment can also be undertaken with this instrument.The measurement range, speed and accuracy of this instrument are 20-200μm,200 times/second and ±0.5μm,respectively.Additionally,the function of the instrument is com- pared with those of home and abroad instruments.In overall,our instrument is advanced.
