Developing Reading Skill

INTRODUCTION Reading is an active skill, which constantly involves guessing, checking andasking oneself questions to help comprehention.It should play an important partin the foreign language learning process. Several authors have disscussed theimportance of reading. (e. g Harmer, 1983 and Holden, 1983). As weall know, even before writing, people often read for information whichis subsequently to be incorporated in their own composition. However, the problemremains of how the reader can finish readirg a large amount of material inlimited time and get the correct meaning of the content as quickly as possible.
