摘要
The experience of management of head and neck tumors was summarized by author’s and some other Chinese literatures. This paper mainly introduced the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of head and neck tumors, especially the malignancies in China. It emphasized that to assign protocols on a case-by-case basis (custom made) and the combined therapy are key points to improve the cure rate or survival rate for head and neck malighancies. Up to now, the 5-year survival rate for squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck was about 62% (1986), and about 71% (1987) for carcinoma of salivary gland origin.
