THE PERIOD OF A SIMPLE PENDULUM AND THE RADIUS OF THE EARTH

本文证明,地球半径R的有限性将导致这样的一个结果:单摆周期与地球半径R有关;通常的周期公式仅仅是R为无限大时的理想情况.

It is shown that the finiteness of the radius of the earth leads to such a result that the period of a simple pendulum is ex- plicitly dependent on the radius R of the earth. The usual formula of the period of a simple pendulum is only an ideal case when R is infinite.
