关于《桃花源记》所表现的思想,历来倍受争议。有人说它纯属作者的虚构幻想,其实它是有多方面现实渊源的;也有人说《桃花源记》存在复古倒退的消极思想,其实作者的怀古就是对现实的不满和否定;还有人说陶渊明虚构描画出这种美好的理想社会图景,是麻痹人民的革命斗志,引导人们逃避现实,具有消极作用,其实《桃花源诗》(并序)所表现的思想并非要逃避现实,而只是表现了他对理想的向往,并表达了普天下劳动人民的共同心愿而已。

Arguments as to the thoughts reflected by Peach Blossom Spring haven’t ceased.Against the view that it was made out of whole cloth,there are multi-aspect real sources;against the view that it implies negatively returning to the old and retrogressing,the author’s meditation on the past just expresses dissatisfaction and negation for the reality;against the view that it pictured an ideal society and deliberately paralyzing the people’s revolutionary will,the author only demonstrated his pursuit for ideals and mirrored the common wishes of the mass.
