Finally unbearable she used sword into the enemy's heart to defend their own love and dignity. Her tragedy is caused by multiple factors. This paper analyzes the origin and essence of Tess's tragedy resulting from the multi aspects, the connotation, in order to better understand, grasp Hardy's classic works of literature.
