论林文庆与《日新报》创办缘起

The relationship between Lim Boon Keng and the establishment of “Jit Shin Pau”

《日新报》是19世纪末新加坡华人世界一份重要的维新派报纸,创办人为新加坡华侨林文庆。该报的创办有着深厚的历史背景,林文庆本人的思想观念、交友人脉、中国所处的政治环境和新加坡的政治风气、思想氛围、地理环境共同缔造了《日新报》的创办缘起。

"Jit Shin Pau", a reformers newspaper, which is significant to Singaporean Chinese at the end of 19th century. Before created by local Chinese Boon Keng, profound historical background of newspaper has been deeply rooted. This paper compromises Boon Keng’s wisdom and interpersonal relationship, the political environment of both China and Singapore, the ideological and geographical atmosphere. Those elements all lead to the establishment of the newspaper.
