REVIEW ON THE FUNCTION OF VPG PROTEIN IN THE LIFE CYCLE OF POSITIVE-STRAND RNA VIRUSES

摘要 在多种动、植物单股正链RNA病毒基因组的5'末端往往共价结合一个小分子Vpg蛋白,它可以与多种病毒蛋白或宿主细胞因子相互作用,并形成复合物,参与了病毒的翻译、复制或致病等基本生命活动,研究该蛋白的结构与功能对于阐述单股正链RNA病毒的生命本质具有重要意义,本文对近年来的相关研究进展进行了概括介绍。 For some positive-strand RNA viruses, a protein known as VPg is covalently linked to the 5′end of the viral genome. The VPg not only interacts with many viral proteins but also reacts with many host factors, involving in the process of protein synthesis or virus genome replication. Therefore, VPg plays an essential role in the life cycle of these viruses. This article provides an overview of the functions of RNA virus VPg.
