古籍丛书是文化发展和社会需要的产物。为了便于阅读,人们总是想到把最先需要的一些书汇编在一起。丛书的形成和类书有着密切的关系。类书的发展和演变是丛书形成的一条重要途径,由节抄各书向汇编各书的逐渐发展,是丛书形成过程中和类书演变相辅而行的另一条源流。而笔记、杂录、谈丛等"说部"之书的大量出现更是推动丛书发展的重要因素。

Series of ancient books are the production of culture development and social demand.People always think about how to compile the books they need first together so as to read expediently.The formation of series of books also has close relation with Leishu.The development and evolution of Leishu are an important approach of the formation of series of books,while gradually developing from the excerption of some parts to compiling the books is another headstream of supplementing each other with Leishu’s evolution in the formation process of series of books.Then the appearance of large numbers of Shuobu books,such as notes,olio,series of discourse etc,is an even more important factor that promotes the development of series of books.
