《白鹿原》简论

A Brief Discourse on “The Plain of White Deer”

陈忠实的长篇小说《白鹿原》,真实地反映了从清末民初到解放这50年间中国农村复杂的历史内容,塑造了白稼轩、鹿子霖、黑娃、田小娥等一批鲜活生动的人物形象。作品侧重于描写典型的文化人格,对人物内宇宙进行了深层次的探求,采用了象征等多种表现手法,把传统现实主义与西方现代派一些荒诞写法结合起来,成为当前我国长篇小说中最震撼人心、最为人称道的收获之一。小说也还存在着对传统思想的留恋、缺少生命的体验、疏密不够匀称谐调等缺憾。

The long novel "The Plain of White Deer" written by Chenzhongshi truly reflects the complicated history in China’s rural areas in the past fifty years from the end of Qing dynasty to the liberation of China. In the novel the author creates a group of lively typical characters such as Baijiaxuan, Luzilin, Black boy, Tian Xiao’e and so on, especially depicts their typical cultural characters, and probes deeply into the human being’s heart of hearts. By employing the techniques of symbol and other ways of expressions, the author combines the traditional realism with some fantastic expressions of Western modern schools to make it become one of the most thrilling and well-appreciated long novels at present in China. Still there are some shortcomings in the novel, for example, it yearns for the traditional ideas and lacks of learning through life, and its structure is not fully well-balanced.
