Ellipsis is a very common grammatical phenomenon in languages. Elliptical sentences are frequently seen in English, especially in some particular situations. Yet, there appeared some misunderstandings of ellipsis when some scholars studied it. This article tries to illustrate some points on the misunderstandings from aspects of vocabulary,sentence structure and language customs.
