A Personal View of Some Significant Problems in Chinese Painting Teaching

中国画教学的目的就是简单的八个字:"读书明理,教书育人。"就是教画法,也必须明画法之理,是为了画"画",为了画中的形、色、神、势、趣、韵等作画的各种方法,而不是为了状物摹体致用的。

The purpose of Chinese painting can be simply described as eight characters:'Reading make a full man and teaching is for education.'Even in respect of teaching painting method, the principle of painting method must be specified and such painting method is used for'drawing'and representing the form,color,spirit,potential,interest,charm and others,but not for narration or imitation of objects.
