Alfred Tennyson is the most popular and distinguishing poet during Victorian Age.After reading and researching his works,we find that the image of death is abundant in his poetry,and the theme of death becomes the important and indispensable part in many of his poems.The author of this thesis inquires into the theme of death in his poems,as embodied separately through the image of sea,the image of coffin and the image of fight.It is his diligent exploration of death images that accomplishes his unique ideas and artistic style.
