当代西方菲茨杰拉德研究综述

Recent Status and Tendencies of Western Fitzgerald Studies

自1996年以来,国外菲茨杰拉德研究呈现出向深度和广度发展的热潮。本文对这一时期发表的大量有关菲氏研究的工具书、传记、专著、论文集分别做了介绍和简评。许多批评家运用了种种现、当代批评理论和方法来剖析菲氏的作品,产生了不少颇有创见的论著。另一方面,也有一些批评家坚持从社会、历史、文化的角度去阐释,也出现了一些有新意、有深度的论著。另外,把菲氏同其他作家进行比较研讨也是一种明显的趋势。同时,越来越多的论著对他的前期作品和短篇小说给予了较大的关注。

Since 1996 there has been a new wave in Fitzgerald studies which develops both in depth and width.This paper makes a survey of the large quantities of reference books,biographies,monographs,and collections of essays abroad on F.Scott Fitzgerald in the past fifteen years.While many critics analyze Fitzgerald's works with modern and contemporary critical approaches, other critics interpret them from the social,historical and cultural angles. They all have brought new ideas to Fitzgerald studies.It also summaries the marked tendencies,such as comparative studies of Fitzgerald and other writers and increasing emphasis on Fitzgerald's early novels and short stories.
