The Dialogue between Lefebvre and Foucault in Spatial Dimension

Henri Lefebvre,a modern French philosopher and one of the founders of Western Marxism,are playing a very important role in French modern history of thoughts.In the an ideological trend of spatial turn,Lefebvre has done foundational contribution to this trend.The spatial theory was initiated by Lefebvre and further approved by Foucault.In the 1970s,Michel Foucault and Lefebvre share their common view upon the matter of space.In 1974,Lefebvre's The Production of Space published,and Foucault also elaborated his spatial view in the essay 'Text/Context of Other Spaces',published in 1986.Both theorist happened to hold the same view,and their spatial systems are also consistent.We could say,Lefebvre and Foucault jointly proclaimed the coming of spatial age.This essay will probe into Lefebvre and Foucault's spatial ideas respectively,and further study their understanding toward spatial issues.
