Chinese Economic Transformation at the Crossroad——Speeding up the Consumption-led Transformation and Reform

当前的宏观经济走势表明,我国正处在经济转型的历史拐点,经济增长开始进入中速增长的新阶段。在这个特定背景下,要统筹兼顾,解决好短期与中长期的矛盾;要客观分析宏观经济运行的周期性波动与结构性矛盾的关系;要处理好政策拉动与结构性改革的关系。这就需要以转型与改革推动国内发展方式转变,推进消费主导的经济转型,释放中长期经济增长空间。

The current macroeconomic trend shows that Chinese economic transformation is at a historical turning point, with the economy beginning to enter a new phase of moderate growth speed. In this particular context, China need to take all factors into consideration and resolve the conflicts between long-and short-term interests; objectively analyze the relationship between the cyclical fluctuations in the macro-economy and its structural problems; and handle the relationship between stimulative policies and structural reform. This entails relying on transformation and reform to promote change of development mode, speed up consumption-led economic transformation and create space for long-and medium-term economic growth.
