The Rejuvenation of Confucian Traditions and the Spirit of State Governance

当代中国的改革面临着与世界历史秩序变动相关联的"大时代"情境,因而必须从内与外、远与近的关联性视角予以观照,从而实现主权国家的内部治理与中华文明的世界复兴的双赢。在此双重视域内,改革面临着两个基本性问题:一是通过治教结构的调整解决当下的政治正当性危机,一是重建伦理生活与精神秩序。而这两个方面,都与儒家传统的复兴关联在一起。

Reform in contemporary China faces the 'great era' situation associated with changes in the world order. Therefore, it must be investigated from the relevance perspective, including inside and outside, and far and near. Thus a win-win situation of internal governance of a sovereign state and the rejuvenation of Chinese civilization around the world can be achieved. Within such a dual perspective, reform faces two basic issues: one is to solve the current crisis of political legitimacy by adjusting the structure of education management, and the other is to reestablish ethical life and spiritual order. Both issues are associated with the rejuvenation of Confucian traditions.
