晚清时期传教士英语教学对近代语文教学的影响之一——以钟天纬的语文教学改革实践活动为个案

晚清传教士使用的英语教学法与我国传统语文教学法具有较大的差异,其从事的英语教学对近代语文教学产生了重大的影响。曾受教于林乐知的钟天纬,借鉴林乐知等传教士的英语教学法——即教授英语先从拼写、读音开始,然后到词组、句型的讲解,再到篇章的教授;注重详细地解释,强调反复地练习,遵循由浅入深、循序渐进的讲授原则,成功将此法引入到传统语文教学领域,成为晚清时期改革传统语文教学的开拓者,从而有力推动了中国近代语文教学的革新和发展。钟天纬从事的语文教学改革实践活动对当今的语文教育事业有着重要的启示和借鉴意义。

The English teaching method used by missionaries in late Qing dynasty has large differences with the traditional Chinese language teaching.The missionaries' English teaching has a significant impact on modern Chinese language teaching.Zhong Tianwei,taught English by the famous missionary Young John Allen,succeeds in reforming the traditional Chinese language by learning from the English teaching method used by missionaries.The above-mentioned method should obey the following rules that spelling and pronunciation are firstly taught to students,then phrases and sentences are secondly explained to students,and sections and chapters are thirdly explained to students.His teaching practice vigorously promotes the innovation and development of modern Chinese language teaching.
