Genre analysis is a convenient tool to unpack the meaning and communication intention of a passage by delineating and interpreting the generic structure and linguistic features of the text.Drawing on the analytical framework from Bhatia and Swales,this study analyzes 10 English introductions collected from tourism web sites to uncover the typical move structure of these introductions and the functions and linguistic features of each move,and explains how the move structure and linguistic features contribute to the realization of the communicative purpose.
