英语演讲是具有重要文体价值的体裁。在对演讲词的研究和各种演讲文体研究的基础上,从新年演讲这一相对新颖的演讲词入手,运用文体学相关理论,结合定量和定性研究方法,从词汇,句法和语法修辞效果这些层面进行分析。在语境效果方面,以韩礼德的理论从语场、语旨和语势三个方面进行研究。

English speeches have important stylistic value. Based on the researches and stylistic analysis of kinds of public speeches,this paper is a stylistic analysis of American presidents' New Year speeches in lexical,syntactical and rhetorical levels. In contextual factor analysis,Halliday's principle of three situational elements is adopted as the base for analysis: field of discourse,tenor of discourse and mode of discourse.
