汉口“咸宁会馆”考略

Research on the Xianning Guild Hall in Hankou

近代汉口咸宁会馆的创建者,有人认为是陕西咸宁,也有人认为是湖北咸宁,但述及该会馆的著述并没有提供最原始的直接证据。一般推理固然有其价值,而一手的史料更具明证的意义。考之《续汉口丛谈》、《咸宁市志》中的《钟台书院碑记》以及钟台书院纠纷案档案,可以明确断定汉口咸宁会馆是湖北咸宁所建。咸宁会馆本身虽然是同乡商人会馆,但在汉口地方社会的教育事业中也曾有过一定的贡献。

The creator of Xianing guild hall in modern Hankou is thought to be either the people of Shaanxi Xiniang or Hubei Xianning. But previous writings did not provide the most original direct evidence. Refering of the original historical data and archives,the author explicitly concluded the Xianning guild hall in Hankou was built by the people of Hubei Xianning. The Xianning guild hall was a merchant guild hall,but it also had a certain contribution for the education in the local society.
