The Mission and Self-cultivation of Colleges Leaders Under New Situation——Several Thoughts on Socialist Politician and Educator

落实党和国家关于高校领导,特别是党委书记、校长应成为社会主义政治家、教育家的要求,首先,在培养和实践的层面上,要明确方向和目标,找到可行的、不断发展的、梯级进步的培养目标和标准。其次,实现上述目标与任务,是当代高等教育发展的必然要求,应真正认识它的必要性和紧迫性。再次,为实现上述目标,高校领导者,特别是党委书记、校长,必须牢记职责使命,坚守政治责任,加强自我修养,把握高等教育规律,切实提高办学治校的能力和水平。同时,党和国家乃至整个社会,要积极为社会主义政治家、教育家的成长和历练,营造良好氛围,创造有利条件。

In order to implement the Party's requirement upon college leaders,especially the demand that Secretary of the Party committee and the headmaster should be politician and educator,we need solve problems on several aspects. First,in aspect of training and practice,we ought to clear the direction and goals,and also find feasible,evolving and cascade progressive training target and standard. Secondly,it is crucial for us to realize achieving the goal and task is the inevitable requirement of modern higher education. Moreover,the necessity and urgency should be truly recognized. Thirdly,in order to achieve the above goals,college leaders,especially the Secretary of the Party committee and President must bear in mind the mission,adhere to the political responsibility,strengthen self-cultivation,grasp the law of higher education and improve the capability and level of running school. At the same time,the party and the state as well as the society should actively create a good atmosphere and favorable conditions for the development of education and training of the socialist politician.
