地方高校英语专业开设语言学课程的几点思考

Some Considerations on the Setting of linguistic Course for English Majors in local Colleges

英语语言学是英语专业必修的专业知识课程,其教学目的在于使学生了解人类语言研究的丰富成果,提高其对语言的社会、人文、经济、和科技语境方面的认识。然而,由于受教学条件和资源的限制,许多地方高校并未真正能够开设起这门课程。讨论这一话题,旨在让地方高校同行重视这门学科的发展现状和重要性,以期对英语语言学教学起到一定的促进作用。

English Linguistics is a compulsory course for English majors.The aim of this course is to let students know the rich findings in human languages and to improve their understanding of the social,cultural,economic,scientific and technological contexts of human languages.However, many local colleges can not really offer this course due to the limitation of the teaching conditions and resources.This paper aims to arouse teachers’awareness of the significance and the current situation of the linguistic course in the process of promoting English teaching in local colleges.
