闻一多是新月派的代表性诗人与理论家,其人生理想与文艺观念接受了诸多外来的影响,但在其思想感情和诗歌创作批评实践中,本土的、民族的因素始终居于主导地位。闻一多的新格律诗创作和理论倡导、对诗艺和诗美的经营与追求,诗歌中的爱国情感和悲悯情怀,都直接承传了中国古典诗学。

WenYiduo is representative poet and theorist of Xinyue school. He was effected by external influences manifested on his social ideals and literary artistic concepts. But the local and national factors were living in the dominant position not in his thoughts but also in his critical practice. His new metrical poetry and theory advocacy,his pursuit of the art of the poetry,his return to poetry itself,his patriotic feelings and sympathy compassion in his poetry,all above points are a direct inheritance of classical Chinese poetics.
