In the course of the great renewal of the Chinese nation,the independent spirit of the nation and the people should be upheld.President Xi Jinping calls for'adherence to the moral values formed and developed in our country',and he himself has put them into theoretical and practical activities.The paper makes a preliminary analysis of the process,the connotation and the essence of President Xi Jinping's learning Chinese traditional moral essence in three aspects:'scholars are not necessary to be officials,but officials should be learners';everyone should learn from the excellent Chinese traditional culture and moral essence;and Chinese excellent traditional culture is the root and soul of our nation.
