Burden and Grace——on Christian Color in Amy Tan's Novels and the Literary Value

谭恩美是美国当代著名的华裔女作家,她的小说叙事与《圣经》文本有密切的关联,这是被研究者所忽略的。一方面她吸纳了基督教对人性的理解,突破了东西方的界限来探究人性深处的罪恶和良善,另一方面她对《圣经》资源的利用也表明中国故事同样可以借助于《圣经》资源来完成叙事。这是值得中国当代作家借鉴的。

Amy Tan is a famous contemporary Chinese American female writer. The narrative of her novels is closely related to the text of the Bible, which is ignored by researchers. On the one hand, she Christian interpretation of human nature, breaking the limits between the East and the West to explore the good and the evil deep in human nature; on the other hand, her appropriation of the Bible manifests the narrative of Chinese stories by means of the Bible. Both of the aspects deserve the contemporary Chinese writers' attention.
