大量证据显示,儿童与青少年健康是影响其学习能力的重要因素。学校环境对学生和职员的自信、学术成就及健康有直接的影响。健康教育与健康促进中心于1998年在香港首次推行健康促进学校计划,创办训练课程并开展香港健康学校奖励计划,为健康学校的发展提供框架及系统化的监察制度,以认证学校的成绩。根据世界卫生组织的指引,计划有六个主要范畴:健康政策、学校环境及校风、人际关系、社区关系、个人健康生活技能、健康服务。每个范畴都包含一系列的学校改革活动,涉及家长、学校管理层及社区,并有教师培训项目。健康教育与健康促进中心为每个主要范畴制定一套指标,以评估计划是否成功推广。
There is abundant evidence to demonstrate that the health of children and adolescents constitutes a major factor affecting their capacity to learn. The school environment has a direct impact on the self-esteem, educational achievement, and health of pupils and staff. The Center for Health Education and Health Promotion( CHEP) initiated the Health Promoting School programme in Hong Kong in 1998 by launching a training course, and then developed the Hong Kong Healthy Schools Award Scheme, which provided a structured framework for the development of a system of monitoring progress and recognition of achievement. The programme and Scheme cover six key areas, including health policy, physical and social environments, community relationships, personal health skills and health services, all being adapted from the World Health Organizatio n's Guidelines. Each key area has a number of components covering school-based changes and initiatives, and the involvement of parents, school management committees and community, as well as teacher training. The CHEP has developed a set of indicators for each key area and an evaluation framework to measure the success.
