近代已降,伴随着外来殖民者的入侵,传统的社会体系开始瓦解,中国社会发生了翻天覆地的变化。战争之于整个社会的破坏不仅仅限于城市,乡村社会也遭受了巨大的创伤。无论是在政治、经济、文化,还是在社会的生活各个方面,乡村社会都面临着前所未有的矛盾与冲突。农村作为传统农业社会的主体,它的困境直接影响了中国社会的发展与进程。在困顿中,一批先进的中国人在直面于近代社会困境的基础上,意识到只有改变乡村社会的"愚、贫、弱、私"才能从根本上使中国社会得到发展。而改变的方式则是要依靠教育,随即展开了一场轰轰烈烈的乡村教育运动。本文就是探讨近代乡村教育的历史使命。

Modern has dropped,accompanied by the invasion of the alien colonists,the traditional social system began to collapse and Chinese society produced the change to turn the world upside down. The whole social destruction in war not only limited to the city,rural society also suffered significant trauma.In the political,economic,cultural,even the social life each aspect,rural society are confronted with hitherto unknown contradictions and conflicts.Rural as a traditional agricultural society,its predicament has a direct impact on the Chinese social development and progress.The advanced Chinese people in the face of difficulties in modern society on the basis of the rural society,realized only by changing the 'stupid,poor,weak,private' can be fundamentally to Chinese social development.The way of the change is education.Immediately the rural education movement has launched field with vigor and vitality.This article is to explore the modern rural education the historical mission entmsted by the history.
