The Formation of the Songze Culture

崧泽文化一直被认为是上承马家浜文化发展而来的考古学文化。对崧泽文化早期遗存和马家浜文化较晚遗存以及各阶段器物组合、器形特征的比较和分析揭示,崧泽文化与马家浜文化既有联系,也存在着明显的变化,并非简单的继承、发展关系。崧泽文化的形成除了继承马家浜文化传统外,也受到了皖江流域黄鳝嘴文化、薛家岗文化的重要影响,这与马家浜文化从西向东发展的文化态势相似。崧泽文化在成功吸收、转化外来文化影响的同时,又创造出新的文化因素,在文化中期阶段成为长江下游地区最重要的一支考古学文化,直接影响扩展到宁镇地区、江淮东部地区等,并反向影响到皖江流域及其以西区域,从而奠定了以后良渚文化强势文化的基础。

The Songze Culture is believed to have succeeded from that of Majiabang. A comparative analysis on the remains of early Songze Culture and late Majiabang Culture particularly in terms of objects features and assemblage indicates that such succession was not a simple linear process. In addition to Majiabang Culture, the Songze Culture had also received influences from the Huangshanzui Culture and Xuejiagang Culture of the Wanjiang basin, a similar development pattern to that of Majiabang. While adopting and transforming the other cultures, the Songze Culture also grew some new cultural factors and became the most important cultural form in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River when it reached its middle developing stage. Its influence spread directly to Ningzhen and eastern Jianghuai areas and even in return to the Wanjiang basin and the areas to its west. The Songze Culture laid a strong foundation for the later Liangzhu Culture to become a powerful cultural form.
